All those things being said, I do love the artwork that others do. I tend not to criticize very often unless I feel my comments could actually help a piece, and the author / artist has asked for constructive criticism.
Now, I do understand the fear of art theft. Especially the better artists. You've worked hard on your art and don't want art stolen. However there are "watermarks" and then again there are "W A T E R M A R K S ! ! ! ! "
My problem is with that latter kind of watermark. Come on, when you put obnoxious watermarks directly over the center of a work, it detracts from the work in a worse way then a misdrawn nose or poorly coloured painting.
Heres 2 examples of what I mean;
Subtle, non intrusive watermark:

Godf*ck awufl watermark :

Personally, I like pirate, I like girls, there's nothing about that second work that I wouldn't like... except for the fact that I can barely see it as half of it is covered by a G.D. watermark. The DA watermark that a lot of people use is also a bit too obnoxious in my opinion, but its not as bad. I guess I just don't understand the fear of art theft as much as I thought I did.
